Inconel 600
Aurico Alloys LLP supplies Inconel 600 (UNS N06600, W.Nr. 2.4816) as sheet, plate, coil, foil, round bar, wire, pipe, tube and fittings, from Mumbai, India, with EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates. It delivers reliable strength and corrosion resistance from cryogenic to 1093°C in chemical, oil & gas, marine, pharma and power applications.
Key Properties
- Nickel 72% minimum with chromium 14-17% and iron 6-10% — the base nickel-chromium composition the family is built on.
- Immune to chloride stress corrosion cracking, the failure mode that limits austenitic stainless steels.
- Caustic and high-purity water service, and useful oxidation resistance to around 1100 °C.
- Inconel 601 adds aluminium for far better oxidation resistance; 690 nearly doubles the chromium.

Inconel 600 resists boiling caustic soda through 80% and is preferred to Nickel 201 where hot caustic carries sulphur, though it can crack in some alkali environments unless stress relieved. It is compared with the other grades, chemical by chemical, in our acid and alkali service guide.
