Inconel 600 Pipes Supplier, Stockist and Exporter

Aurico Alloys LLP supplies Inconel 600 pipe (N06600, Werkstoff 2.4816) to ASTM B167 from Mumbai, to customers across India and in more than 40 export markets.

A 600 pipe line is usually carrying one of three things: hot caustic soda, a chlorinated process stream, or furnace gas. All three crack or scale ordinary austenitic stainless, and all three are what 600’s 72% nickel was chosen to handle. Pipe is specified by nominal bore and schedule, so the wall is set by design pressure plus a corrosion allowance – and in caustic service the allowance on 600 can be kept small.

Mechanical and Physical Properties

Annealed 600 pipe runs roughly 550–690 MPa tensile with yield near 240 MPa, so it is a moderate-strength line material: the schedule is chosen for pressure, not the alloy for strength. It holds its oxidation resistance in continuous service to roughly 1090°C, which is why it is used for hot gas lines that a 304 or 316 line would scale through.

Industry Applications

Why Inconel 600 pipe

The case for 600 pipe is caustic and chloride stress-corrosion cracking. Where hot caustic soda or a chlorinated stream would crack a stainless line at the welds, 600 does not, and it costs less than the molybdenum-bearing grades because it has no molybdenum to pay for. That same absence means it is the wrong pipe for seawater or reducing acids – for those, 625 pipe is the step up.

Where Inconel 600 pipe is specified
IndustryTypical use
Chlor-alkaliCaustic soda transfer and evaporator lines, including concentrated caustic above the temperature where nickel-free alloys crack.
Chemical processingChlorination plant and chlorinated-hydrocarbon process piping to around 538°C.
Heat treatmentFurnace gas and endothermic-atmosphere lines exposed to carburising and nitriding conditions.
Food processingProcess lines handling organic acids and chloride-bearing media.

Testing and Certification

Pipe ships with an EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate stating heat number, chemical analysis and mechanical properties. Hydrostatic testing, ultrasonic examination of the wall, dye-penetrant testing of the ends and positive material identification are available on request, as is ASTM G28 intergranular corrosion testing for caustic duty. Third-party inspection by Lloyd’s Register, Bureau Veritas, SGS or TÜV can be arranged under our ISO 9001:2015 system.
