Inconel 690 Pipes Supplier, Stockist and Exporter
Table of Contents
Aurico Alloys LLP supplies Inconel 690 pipe (N06690, Werkstoff 2.4642) to ASTM B167 from Mumbai, to customers across India and in more than 40 export markets.
Pipe in 690 carries oxidising acids. Nitric acid and nitric-hydrofluoric pickling lines, reprocessing plant and hot, sulphur-bearing combustion gas all attack alloys that rely on a thinner chromium oxide; 690’s 27–31% chromium builds a film those environments do not strip, which is what keeps the line in service.

Mechanical and Physical Properties
Annealed 690 pipe runs around 590–760 MPa tensile, a moderate-strength line material whose schedule is set by pressure. Its value is chemical: resistance to nitric and mixed acids and to stress-corrosion cracking in hot water.
Industry Applications
Why Inconel 690 pipe
In reducing acids 690 is not the right choice – a molybdenum-bearing grade such as 625 or 686 is. In oxidising acids the position reverses, and 690’s chromium is what counts. That makes 690 pipe the natural line material for nitric and nitric-hydrofluoric service, where molybdenum brings little and chromium brings a great deal.
| Industry | Typical use |
|---|---|
| Chemical processing | Nitric acid and nitric-hydrofluoric pickling lines. |
| Nuclear | Reprocessing plant piping in oxidising acid service. |
| Power generation | Coal gasification and high-sulphur combustion gas lines. |
| Metal finishing | Pickling plant transfer lines. |
Testing and Certification
Pipe is supplied with an EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate stating heat number, chemical analysis and mechanical properties. Hydrostatic testing, ultrasonic examination, positive material identification and ASTM G28 intergranular corrosion testing are available on request, with third-party inspection under our ISO 9001:2015 system.
