Inconel 686 Wire Supplier, Stockist and Exporter

Aurico Alloys LLP supplies Inconel 686 wire (N06686, Werkstoff 2.4606) to DIN 17753 from Mumbai, to customers across India and in more than 40 export markets.

There is no ASTM wire standard for alloy 686. Special Metals lists 686 as available in wire and wire rod in coil, and the wire standard it gives for the alloy is DIN 17753. ASTM B574 is often quoted for 686 wire, but its scope is rod only, so a wire order that cites it is asking for material certified to a standard that does not cover it.

Mechanical and Physical Properties

Properties follow the temper ordered, and the certificate states the tensile result for the temper supplied. Annealed 686 runs around 720 MPa tensile; the reason to use it is not strength but corrosion resistance in hot, contaminated acid.

Industry Applications

Why Inconel 686 wire

Most 686 wire is bought for one of two jobs. Welding a 686 structure, or overlaying a component with 686, needs the matching filler metal – ordered as a welding consumable, which is certified to its own classification rather than to DIN 17753. Wire parts inside acid equipment – ties, fixings, mesh and supports in scrubbers and bleach plant – are ordered to DIN 17753, so that the smallest parts of the system do not corrode before the lining they hold.

Testing and Certification

Every coil or spool is traceable to its heat on an EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificate stating chemical analysis and the tensile result for the temper supplied. Diameter is checked against the ordered tolerance, and positive material identification and third-party inspection are available under our ISO 9001:2015 system.
