Incoloy 890
Aurico Alloys LLP supplies Incoloy 890 as sheet, plate and round bar, from Mumbai, India, with EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates.
Incoloy® 890 (UNS N08890) is the newest of the INCOLOY heat-resistant alloys: an iron–nickel–chromium composition at nickel 42.5% and chromium 25% nominal, resisting oxidation, carburisation and sulphidation to 1200 °C. Special Metals describes it as carrying alloy 803's high chromium content with silicon, molybdenum and niobium added on top, and those three additions are what separate it.
Key Properties
- Silicon 1.8%, molybdenum 1.5% and niobium 0.4%, nominal — the additions Special Metals names as the enhancement over alloy 803, whose high chromium it shares.
- Nickel 42.5% and chromium 25% nominal on an iron balance, with tantalum 0.2%.
- Oxidation, carburisation and sulphidation resistance to 1200 °C, with high strength alongside — the combination the grade was developed for.
- Special Metals publishes a nominal composition for this alloy, not specification limits; titanium, manganese and copper are the cells given as maxima.
Applications
- Ethylene and hydrocarbon cracking furnace hardware
- Radiant tubes and furnace internals
- Carburising and sulphidising process equipment
- High-temperature process piping
