Incoloy® 660
Aurico Alloys LLP supplies Incoloy® 660 as sheet, plate and round bar, from Mumbai, India, with EN 10204 3.1 mill test certificates.
Incoloy® 660 (UNS S66286), better known as A-286, is an age-hardenable iron-base superalloy — chromium 13.5-16%, nickel 24.0-27.0%, titanium 1.90-2.35% and molybdenum 1.0-1.5%. The titanium is what hardens it, and it keeps useful strength to around 700 °C on an iron base, which is why it is specified where a fully nickel-based alloy is not warranted.
Key Properties
- Iron base, not a nickel alloy. Chromium 13.5-16% with nickel 24.0-27.0% is an austenitic stainless composition, and it prices accordingly.
- Age-hardened by titanium 1.90-2.35%, with aluminium capped at 0.35%.
- Useful strength to about 700 °C, above which the nickel-based grades take over.
- AMS 5525 / 5858 for sheet and plate; ASTM A638 and AMS 5731 / 5732 / 5734 / 5737 for bar.
Applications
- Turbine fasteners, bolting and studs
- Turbine discs and non-rotating engine hardware
- Springs and retaining rings at temperature
- Fasteners for automotive and aerospace exhaust
